Successful activation of the ARMI registry

11.01.2024

ARMI is the first national registry of myocardial infarction in Armenia. The Armenian Cardiologists Association organized the research project in collaboration with the Santé Arménie French-Armenian Academic Research Organization. The work on the project has been started since 2022 and a lot of effort and time has been devoted to the successful launch of the project.

Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide. The goal of the project is to create a national registry of ST-elevation myocardial infarction in Armenia, which will improve the diagnosis, treatment, assessment of the disease outcome, and further monitoring. At the time of initial hospitalization, the patient's data will be included in the registry only if they give informed consent. About 2,500 patients are planned to be included. The database will also allow long-term (up to 1 year) data collection, providing a new opportunity to improve the treatment of other patients with similar diseases.

On February 16 2023, the registry was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Yerevan State Medical University.

During December 2023, the activation of all the participating centers started and was successfully completed. 13 centers are participating, 3 of which are in regions:

  1. Erebuni MC
  2. Nork Marash MC
  3. Heratsi Hospital Complex

  9. Aramyants MC
  10. Saint G. Illuminator MC
